Tokyo by Sato Shintaro

Sato Shintaro

Sato Shintaro born in 1969 in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo College of Photography in 1992 and Waseda University School of Letters Arts and Sciences in 1995. Worked as a staff cameraman for Kyodo News for 7 years. Left Kyodo News in 2001. Present: Freelance photographer. Sato’s most recent work is his Tokyo Twilight Zone series, from which the above photo comes. This work was published as a monograph by Seigensha this past Summer. Two of Sato’s pieces are currently being exhibited at the Crow Collection of Asian Art in Dallas until January 4, 2009.

Jill Greenberg

Jill Greenberg was born in Montreal, Canada in 1967. At the age of 2, her family moved to Michigan where Greenberg began her arts education. In 5th grade, while attending Cranbrook’s elementary school, she developed and printed black and white photographs and animated with stop-motion video, as well as drawing, painting and sculpting. Constant extra-curricular courses supplemented her arts education: Kingswood, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Association, and the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. Before senior year in High School, she enrolled in Rhode Island School of Design’s pre-college program in Illustration 1984. Senior year, she was the recipient of the Traub Scholarship for Art from Andover High School, which afforded her the opportunity to attend Parsons in Paris for Photography the summer before art school.

Portrait Photography by Luca Sage

Luca Sage

Luca Sage graduated from the University of Brighton in 2004 with a 1st class degree. Whilst still a student Luca was runner up for two national student awards and was selected for the prestigious Schweppes Portrait Prize. Luca Sage has been selected for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize for a total of four separate occasions; 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2010. His large format portraits have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including the National Portrait Gallery in London. Luca has recently won three international photography awards, the KL Photo Awards 2011, the ’Four Four Two’ World Football Photo Award and the LPA Portraiture 2011 competition. Luca has also been commissioned by ’The Photographers’ Gallery’ in London as part of the London Olympics 2012 celebrations.
